Dr. Milton Silver, through his wide-ranging experience in teaching, writing, and consulting activities, is recognized as a leading authority in management and organizational studies. His specialization in strategic planning and control systems, analysis and design of information systems, and executive and management development and training enable him to integrate sophisticated academic material with the practical management environment. He has helped many governmental and industrial clients with their leadership and organizational needs. His clients include: Western Electric, Morgan Bank, Bristol Myers Squibb, Chevron Oil Company, Coca Cola, RCA/GE, Fidelity Mutual Insurance Company, the United Nations, NASA, the City of Philadelphia, the US Army, US Navy, and US Air Force. Further he has served on the Board of Directors of the American Medical Affiliates – A Nursing Home Conglomerate and provides assistance to other company boards.
Dr. Silver has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.B.A. from the Wharton School, and a Ph.D. in Management from Columbia University. He is currently a professor with the Department of Management and Organizational Sciences at Drexel University. Aside from his teaching work, Dr. Silver is also the director of the mentoring program at the Baiada Center for Entrepreneurship in Technology, where he is now a mentor/consultant to resident entrepreneurial startups.
Dr. Silver received the Lindback Award for Outstanding Teaching. ORSA, AIDS, IEEE, EAM, and Beta Gamma Sigma are a sampling of the honor societies to which he has been elected. He is a past president of the Delaware Valley Chapter of TIMS. He has coauthored two textbooks, Production Management Analysis and Production Management – Text and Cases and he is the proud father of one MBA, two MDs, and grandfather of seven grandchildren.
