The Wharton Fund

The Wharton Fund is the Wharton School’s unrestricted giving fund that is used to support existing programs and initiatives while also serving as the seed money for innovative new ventures. It is only thanks to the many generous annual donors to The Wharton Fund that the School is able to meet its immediate needs and respond quickly to unexpected opportunities.

The Wharton Fund Supports:

  • MBA Financial Aid – Contributes to a more equitable student body by ensuring the unparalleled Wharton experience is affordable to students regardless of their financial needs or situation. Approximately 33% of full-time Wharton MBA students receive financial aid from the School.
  • Research and Centers – Such as Wharton People Analytics and Wharton Interactive, to research centers like the Learning Lab and the Behavior Change for Good Initiative, Wharton’s research and centers ensure the School remains a hub for global thought leaders.
  • Lifelong Learning – Serves Wharton alumni throughout their professional lives with extraordinary resources — online, on-campus, and in regions worldwide.

Benjamin Franklin Society

Benjamin Franklin Society members have an outsized impact on the Wharton School. Membership starts at $2,500 annually. Alumni celebrating their first reunion milestone are eligible to join the Young Franklin Society with a gift to The Wharton Fund of $1,000 or more annually.

Lauder Annual Fund

The Lauder Annual Fund is the Lauder Institute’s unrestricted giving fund. This funding provides the Lauder Institute’s director with the resources to support the Institute’s most pressing needs at their discretion. Your gift to the Lauder Annual Fund strengthens the impact and innovation of the Institute and supports tomorrow’s global business leaders.

The Lauder Annual Fund Supports:

  • Student Aid – Providing assistance with tuition, experiential learning costs, and fees is a top priority for the Lauder Institute. Each summer, the Institute sponsors need-based students to participate in Leadership Immersion Internships which promote leadership and intercultural development at organizations either in the U.S. or abroad.
  • International Program Development – Immersion opportunities like the bi-annual Lauder Intercultural Ventures and Culture Quest (an Amazing Race-style program) allow students to delve into the context of business outside of the classroom.
  • Alumni and Student Engagement – Working to further expand and improve engagement opportunities for Lauder alumni. Recent events like the Africa Futures Symposium and alumni programming are just a few examples of how our community remains connected to the university while sharing industry knowledge.

Make a Pledge, Amplify Your Impact

The power of your gift can be amplified when you make a multi-year commitment. When you make a pledge to The Wharton Fund or Lauder Annual Fund during a reunion milestone year, the full amount of your commitment is recognized in your Class Gift totals.

For example, if you pledge to give $5,000 every year for five years, you are recognized for your commitment to your Class Gift at the $25,000 level.

For more information about multi-year commitments in honor of your Reunion milestone, please review this PDF or contact your Wharton Fund Liaison.

If you are interested in making a multi-year commitment, please contact your Wharton Fund Liaison for assistance to ensure your pledge is recorded accurately.

Matching Gifts

You can double or even triple the impact of your gift if you or your spouse work for a matching gift company. Matching gifts are counted towards Class Gift goals just like any other gift.
