Rodin Museum
2151 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy, Philadelphia, PA 19130

Want an inspiring art break during our reunion? Join our class tour of the Rodin Museum. The Rodin Museum in Philadelphia, the only Rodin Museum in the US, was founded by Jules Mastbaum, 1892 graduate of The Wharton School, to house his vast collection of Rodin’s sculptures and drawings. Mastbaum built a successful movie theater business.

Similar to the Impressionists, who were active during the same time period, Rodin sought to convey realistically the intensity of human emotions captured in the human figure. He produced world- renown masterpieces such as The Thinker and The Gates of Hell, based on Dante’s Divine Comedy. Thanks to Jennifer Huggins Modesett WG ’90 for setting this up.
