Dean Erika James and Vice Dean Eric Bradlow Outline Wharton’s AI Blueprint

On October 23, more than 100 Wharton alumni, faculty, and friends gathered for a Wharton in Focus event that would zoom in on decision-making in the era of artificial intelligence.

Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) Bill Bole began the evening at the Pudong Shangri-La in Shanghai by praising the rapid development of the city. Then, he underscored the Wharton School’s leadership in business education and extended his gratitude to The Wharton Fund donors, whose support fuels the School’s innovative initiatives and research.

Dean Erika James followed with remarks highlighting Wharton’s strategic priorities and its vision for a brighter business future. She also commended the Wharton Shanghai Club for its dedication to fostering community and congratulated its members on hosting the largest gathering in the club’s history earlier this year.

The evening’s centerpiece was an insightful talk by Eric Bradlow, vice dean of AI and analytics. As an alumnus and University of Pennsylvania parent, Vice Dean Bradlow lit up with pride as he shared his enthusiasm for Wharton’s advancements in AI, showcasing its pivotal role at the forefront. His presentation illuminated how businesses can harness the power of data and AI to revolutionize decision-making processes.

After his talk, Dean James joined Vice Dean Bradlow on stage for a lively discussion, examining groundbreaking innovations and the future landscape of AI and analytics. The conversation included an engaging Q&A session, allowing attendees to further explore the influence of AI on their respective industries.

As the evening wrapped up, CAO Bill Bole emphasized the lasting impact of the Wharton network and encouraged alumni to actively support the School’s mission through philanthropy and engagement.
