Prior to entering Wharton, Gloria Rabinowitz earned a Masters in Information Science from The University of Michigan. Immediately after graduation from Wharton with her MBA Gloria (WG ’78) relocated to Detroit, Michigan to work for General Motors. This was a fortunate first step in a career in business and academia all greatly facilitated by her Wharton MBA, its powerful brand and connections.
Gloria was recruited by the DuPont Company and held various executive level positions across DuPont’s Strategic business units including High Temperature Plastics as well as Life Science Business Units for over twenty-five years.
Involvement with The Wharton School has been ongoing since graduation and included serving for ten years as President of the Wharton Club of Philadelphia and growing the home town club membership to over 500 members. She was elected to the Trustees Council of Penn Women, and has been engaged in several reunion planning activities and supporting Penn and Wharton Conferences and events.
A Director of the Enterprise Management Consulting Practice, The Fox School of Business, Temple University, Gloria enjoyed several years in academia as an adjunct faculty member. She taught the capstone course, the last class for MBA’s, a live consulting project for national and international companies who paid Temple University to have their MBA students to tackle high value projects.
She was a founder of and Managing Director of the Golden Seeds Philadelphia Angel Investor Forum. Golden Seeds is an international woman-friendly angel investor group providing early stage and growth capital to women entrepreneurs across all sectors. (www. Goldenseeds.com) Golden Seeds has invested over $180 MM in 240 women-led businesses since its inception in 2005.
She has enjoyed judging many business plan contests including the Wharton Annual Business Plan Contest and the French Government’s Cross Innov Contest, Nice, France.
Gloria is married and lives in Wallingford, PA with her husband. She has two sons, both Penn grads.
