Please reach out to the Alumni PennKey team. They can be reached at email@example.com. If you prefer, you may also call them at (215) 898-7811.
Please send any Wharton-specific questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
1. What is a PennKey?
A PennKey is a login credential that is unique per person. It is used to verify the identity of Penn and Wharton students and alumni. A PennKey is a combination of a PennKey username and password.
2. Why do I need it?
The Wharton School has discontinued the use of the Wharton alumni account in favor of PennKey: a login credential used by the entire University community. PennKey allows you access to all of the same resources that the Wharton Alumni account granted, and more. (See question 4)
3. Why are we switching to PennKey?
Wharton is switching to Pennkey login for alumni in preparation for MyPenn a new version of WhartonConnect/Quakernet, the alumni directory. The Wharton School requires a more secure and streamlined login process that is aligned with that of the entire University community.
4. What exactly does PennKey give me access to?
Having PennKey provides Wharton alumni access to these resources:
- The Alumni Directory
- Wharton Global Clubs Network
- Exclusive webinars
- Wharton events
- Career Resources
- Penn Libraries
- Transcript Requests
- AirPennNet Campus Wifi
- Volunteer Opportunities:
5. Why do you need my Social Security number (SSN)?
You will only need to supply the last four digits of your SSN to verify your identity. This is required in order to help create a unique, secure PennKey login for you.
6. What if I don’t have a Social Security number?
The University has generated four digits to use in place of an SSN for international alumni and those without them. They will be provided to you. Please use those replacement digits to complete the registration process.
7. How can I test my PennKey?
Go to the Test My PennKey application. If you can authenticate successfully in that application, your PennKey username and password are functioning properly.
8. What is the transition timeline?
We will gradually encourage all Wharton alumni to activate a PennKey throughout the summer of 2020. This will be complete by September, 2020 at which time the Wharton alumni account will no longer be offered as a login option.
